‘Tis the Season for Odd Ornaments
December 6, 2007 – 11:30 am, By Josh – UMASS, Lowell

Whether it’s decorating a tree, tabletop or doorway this holiday season, nothing spreads holiday cheer better than odd ornaments that make people feel uncomfortable. Deck the halls with…tampon snowflakes? Star Wars menorahs? At least they’re festive, I guess.
Check out the odd ornaments gallery,

Free Rice, Good Grammar, So Much Fun Your Nose Will Bleed
December 10, 2007
About FreeRice
FreeRice is a sister site of the world poverty site, Poverty.com.
FreeRice has two goals:
- Provide English vocabulary to everyone for free.
- Help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free.
This is made possible by the sponsors who advertise on this site.
Whether you are CEO of a large corporation or a street child in a poor country, improving your vocabulary can improve your life. It is a great investment in yourself.
Perhaps even greater is the investment your donated rice makes in hungry human beings, enabling them to function and be productive. Somewhere in the world, a person is eating rice that you helped provide. Thank you.
Sunday Mornings, My Childhood, & Public Radio
December 9, 2007
As a child I changed school a few times, fads came and went, Pete rose was banned from baseball, the Berlin Wall came down, Al Capones vault was empty, I played violin for three weeks , best friends became arch enemies, seasons changed, best of times worst of times and so on, but one thing remained a constant, Public Radio.
In the morning my mom would listen while preparing breakfast and school lunch, often I would get home from school and while the smells of fresh coffee and cinnamon had vanished oftenime the radio would still be on, making the house a bit warmer and a bit less empty. I recall car rides with Click and Clack, summer vacations on Lake Woebegone, and endless jokes about a candidate who could not spell “potato”.
Now I urge all of you to take a look at their programing. Its not just liberal media and classical music. Here a few good places to start.
